With nearly 15 years of experience behind him, intellectual property attorney Charles (Charlie) Cathey provides IP counseling and patent prosecution services for a broad spectrum of our clients. Charlie has provided IP counseling and patent prosecution services for clients ranging in size from a few people to large publicly held companies.

Additionally, Charlie has provided IP counseling to facilitate licensing, acquisitions, sales, funding of startups, an initial public offering, and SEC filings for a public company. Throughout his career, he has drafted and prosecuted patent applications, performed freedom to operate searches, prepared validity opinions, and assisted with patent litigations. He provides IP counseling across many business sectors.

Charlie spent 13 years at several large Silicon Valley law firms, worked as a physics engineer at a Defense company, and served as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army.
